I met Roger Garland while I lived in Cornwall. Years earlier, I’d driven past his art studio in my steel truck and seen the JRR Tolkien sign. I had to go visit!

The art gallery lies on the edge of Dartmoor in East Cornwall. A beautiful spot. I was lucky to meet Roger and share my passion for Ansu. He read Gol and enjoyed it and agreed to create some bespoke art around the series. You can imagine my excitement having characters sketched by a well-known Tolkien artist. Roger’s wife Linda is also an amazing artist, and she painted some gorgeous maps for my more recent books. Roger passed a few years back and is much missed. I’m proud to share some of his work and Ansu sketches on this web page. JWW.
